Slack alerts
Connect a Slack incoming webhook, send a test message, and understand what Slack alerts include and exclude.
Plan availability
Slack alerts are included on plans that enable Slack. Founder does not include Slack. Growth and Pro include Slack when configured.
Connect a webhook
- 01
Create an incoming webhook in Slack
Use your Slack workspace settings to create a webhook for the destination channel.
- 02
Paste the webhook in Cited
Owners and admins can add the webhook in notification settings. Cited stores it encrypted server-side.
- 03
Send a test message
Use the test action to confirm delivery before relying on live alerts.
What messages include
- Event type and AI surface
- Prompt summary
- Domain or competitor context when relevant
- A link back to the citation note in Cited
Slack messages exclude secrets, verification tokens, full private notes, and raw provider payloads.
Failure states
If Slack delivery fails, Cited records a safe failure state and stops pretending the channel is healthy. Re-check the webhook and send another test message.
Disconnecting Slack
Owners and admins can disconnect Slack from notification settings. After disconnect, Cited stops sending Slack alerts for that workspace.
