Acceptable Use Policy

1. Prohibited uses

You may not, and may not permit any third party to, use Cited to:

• Monitor domains you are not authorized to monitor
• Conduct phishing, impersonation, fraud, scams, or social engineering
• Harass, stalk, dox, threaten, or intimidate any person or organization
• Bypass rate limits, billing limits, authentication, or access controls
• Probe, scan, penetrate, or attack Cited infrastructure or other customers
• Upload or enter illegal, infringing, harmful, defamatory, or abusive content
• Attempt to extract, scrape, or expose other customers’ data or Evidence
• Use exports, alerts, or digests for spam or unsolicited bulk communications
• Abuse free scan, sign-up, trial, or referral flows
• Present Cited as regulated professional advice or as a guarantee of outcomes
• Reverse engineer the Service beyond what applicable law expressly allows
• Misuse Slack, webhook, email, export, unsubscribe, or verification features
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service
• Use the Service in violation of export controls, sanctions, or other applicable law
• Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a managed service without Cited’s prior written consent

2. Monitoring and configuration rules

You must configure only domains, brands, and competitors you are authorized to monitor.

You must not use verification tokens, webhook URLs, or export files to compromise security or privacy.

You are responsible for the lawfulness of prompts and destinations you configure.

3. Enforcement

Cited may respond to violations with warnings, throttling, suspension, termination, preservation of records for security investigation, and reporting to authorities where required or appropriate.

Enforcement decisions are made to protect customers, the Service, and Cited. Cited may act without prior notice when reasonably needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

Cited’s failure to enforce this AUP in a particular instance is not a waiver of any rights.

4. Reporting abuse

Report abuse or security concerns to hello@cited.cc.

Include enough detail to investigate. Do not include secrets, webhook URLs, verification tokens, or unrelated customer data in reports.

5. Updates

Cited may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP where permitted by law.
